July Portfolio Update (#4)
The portfolio grew 140% YTD and contracted -23% in July
July was a difficult month for the portfolio, with the account falling (-22.50%), or ~$338K, to finish the month at $1,188,707 in value.
The decline in the portfolio was largely driven by weakness across semiconductors and AI-related stocks, with AMD having the largest impact given its position size.
After a strong first half of the year, the portfolio was due for a period of consolidation, and July ended up being the first significant drawdown of 2026.
Despite the decline, the account remains well above where it started the year.
The portfolio began January at ~$450K and finished July at nearly $1.19M.
I also used the weakness to move some capital around the portfolio.
I increased several existing positions, initiated a small position in Kraken Robotics, exited BitMine, and moved some AMD exposure from shares into long-dated calls (leaps).
Let’s get into it.
